Teacup pigs and mini pigs are becoming increasingly popular as domestic pets. They are much smaller than the standard farm pig and the regular potbelly pig.
Compared to a full grown regular pig at 270-360 kilograms or a full grown potbelly pig at 55-90 kilograms when they weigh in at 13-29 kgs then they seem like a teacup size.
Adults typically weigh around 13 - 29 kgs, are fully-grown at 2-3 years and are about the height of a Jack Russel or Cocker Spaniel. Occasionally some of the grown pigs are in the 11-15 kgs range.
They have a projected lifespan of 15-20 years, and are relatively low maintenance pets, requiring roughly the same amount of daily care as a dog. Teacup potbellied pigs and mini pigs are popular city pets, and their small size lends itself well to apartment living.
They litter box train in a matter of days.
